Virginia Swain has developed a body of knowledge in twenty years of reflection, study and practice, to educate a cross-sectoral group of Reconciliation Leaders™. She is Founder and Director, the Institute for Global Leadership, an organization development consultant, mediator, ombudsperson, certified professional holistic counselor, mentor and facilitator.

The Institute for Global Leadership provides consultation and training for emerging and seasoned leaders Her personal mission is to engender a cross-sectoral approach to partnering for the common good — bringing people from business, society, philanthropists, and politics together by strategizing outreaches for social and economic development in local and international settings.

Virginia is dedicated to developing and supporting emerging and seasoned leaders and teams committed to providing resources for right action in institutional, community and global settings. With work experience on five continents, Virginia has twenty years experience in the United Nations Community and was a senior manager in corporate and nonprofit organizations for ten years.

Description of session: Content and Outcomes
Virginia Swain will lead participants in a fun, high energy, interactive and experiential process where participants will claim their passion and apply it to the resolution of a current challenge. Participants will leave with more understanding of the importance of a personal mission statement and how Reconciliation Leaders influence others effectively while providing fuel for re-energizing their life and work.

After a brief introduction to Reconciliation Leadership participants will share and discuss each other’s stories that recount meaningful events in their lives in which personal passion and creativity were evidenced, create lists of key words and phrases used in the stories, write a paragraph that in cludes the key words and phrases to create the first step of a mission statement, which reveals and fuels their true passion, the first step of being a Reconciliation Leader.
