"Building Bridges - Why Coaches need to understand cultural differences"

Speaker Dr. Ajay Nangalia ACC

Linking to the themes of "Dreams and Visions", "Ignite the Flame of Passion for Change in your Community and pass it on, around the World"

My talk is integral to this theme because as coaches we want to be part of a global profession. However, many international coaches may assume that their training and approach which are effective in a Western social context are universally applicable. This is not true. Cultures in Asia are very different at an individual, community, and organizational level! As a global profession and community, coaches, especially from the West, must understand how they need to adapt their thinking and coaching process to suit their Asian clients. Only then can we truly create bridges across the world. Only then can we work as a community with a common passion, vision and dream.
