Golf is the only global sport that focuses it's attention on adults with ancillary programs for youth.

This interactive workshop will spark the beginning of a golf specific youth development system at each coaches club or facility.

Coaches will learn how to engage families with full services as a community based golf club like they would find at their local swim, soccer club etc.

Learning outcomes and points of interest include:

1. Understanding an holistic approach to golf coaching i.e. Competition preparation, yearly training plans, parent education and the inclusion of the four LTAD performance pillars; Mental, physical, tactical and technical in their program offerings.
2. Revenue generation for coaches (on average could generate triple what they currently make from youth coaching utlizing a complete pyramid of development)
3. Realistic Spin off revenues for the club or facility: F&B sales, Club sales, Adult lessons, new members/players and tee time sales = better quality of life for coaches
4. Higher frequency of younger more developed talent at each club - yielding over time, many more elite athletes.
5. Leveraging current club programs
6. Viable solutions of club rejuvenation and sustainability.

The key focus, is building a program that caters to the whole family and all families - a youth based development program is what parents are use to seeing in the other sports they play. We want golf to be one of them.

For years I have been bothered by the gross monetization of everything in our modern culture. Overly influenced (in my view) by American thinking there has been some widely promoted perspectives such as “If someone does not pay for something they don’t value it”, “Giving your services away devalues them.”, “Only new / beginners coaches and those who have low self esteem give away coaching”. There are more but these will do.

In this session I will take a look at how these types of perspectives block true coach expression, work against the most important tool of all good coaches compassion and why I was taught much of this my meeting one of the USA’s most successful coaches.

Slade Suiter’s life goal and ambition is authenticity. He is a professional human who wants know more about what makes an authentic person, authentic. Graduating from University of St. Thomas in St. Paul Minnesota with a degree in speech communication and philosophy. Slade attended St. John Vianney seminary and School of Divinity St. Paul Minnesota.

Slade is a CTI (Coaching Training Institute) trained leader and co-active life coach. His greatest lessons of authenticity came from coaching terminal cancer patients and people living in slums. He has traveled to Asia, Africa, Europe, Middle-East, giving workshops and seminars and has a passion sitting down listening to people’s stories. He lives in Barcelona Spain where he has dedicated himself to writing and providing workshops.
Slade believes that the power of helping people see their self-deception and rediscovering their authentic self will directly impact the social-political-economic corruption of our society and prevent future global conflicts.

Dr Claire Gaudry has since her early childhood been fascinated by the magic of life and creation. Her passion and love for the intricate mechanisms of nature led her to gaining a Ph.D. in Cellular Biology.
While working as a postdoctoral research fellow in Chicago, she became fascinated by the power of the human brain and the possibility of awakening its potential. She consequently dedicated the following 10 years learning and delivering brain training modalities, co-created a brain based self-development company in London where she coached people of all walks of life (teachers, company directors, entrepreneurs, mums, etc...), set up community programs as well as coordinated research programs on the subject.

"Coaching Young Adults", Brad Wilmot

Brad Wilmot is first and foremost the proud and ecstatically happy father of Mandy's and his young Son, Jack, born in July 2007. Jack's arrival into their lives, ten years in the making, is regarded by both parents to be the most sensational, rewarding and thrilling event possible, and when asked: "What has changed in your life since having children?", Brad simply replies: "The fact that I talk about my Son all the time!"

Brad has been fortunate enough to enjoy a highly successful career in banking, IT, marketing and finance and his diverse corporate experience in these fields allow him to operate from a unique vantage point in coaching. In the early 2000’s, Brad founded Personal Journeys (Pty) Ltd, a company that specialises in the field of human sciences. The company’s services include team-building exercises, specialist training courses, executive and life coaching, research engagements, psychometric assessments and broad-based facilitation interventions. He holds a number of degrees and diplomas in commerce, marketing and finance, has several post-graduate qualifications in training and coaching to his name, and is a certified coach with the ICF.

Brad has always had a passion for people and more so for being a catalyst in assisting people to live their lives to maximum potential. He is primarily involved in coaching young adults and has almost ten years experience in this arena. Brad’s works takes him from private schools to university campuses, and then on to coaching these same clients in the corporate world once they have made the leap from tertiary education to a chosen career path. It has taken hard work, perseverance and continuous research and innovation to be in the position where he humbly works with around five hundred clients a year in a very demanding yet rewarding job.

Brad is a self-confessed addict for living life to the full, and remains ever-grateful to his wife for her continued understanding and patience! Brad and Mandy own a farm in the coastal town of Paternoster in the Western Cape, which is their true home away from home. Brad is a notably successful breeder of Golden Retrievers, or his four-legged children as Mandy calls them, and he regularly sojourns to Paternoster with his 'Golden Girls' to raise a litter of puppies or to watch them swim in the bay at sunset. Brad has had a life-long passion for Mercedes Benz and treasures a carefully chosen collection of these fabulous motor cars that constantly require new batteries due to lack of use!

It's the simple things in life that keep Brad alive, motivated and inspired: the love for his wife and son, the appreciation and special relationship with his Golden Retrievers, the adventure and enjoyment received from many different hobbies, and the pursuit of true happiness by living somewhere special and touching people's lives every day.

"How I Mastered the Man in the Mirror", Johannes Starke

Johannes is a high-performance coach, trained at the prestigious Coaches Training Institute, who helps his clients to achieve high and positive energy levels while maintaining superior productivity. He recently joined Collaborative Leaders, a group of executive coaches that focus on teaching collaboration to teams as well as individuals. In his one-on-one coaching practice, his clients are individuals who long for a more positive, energetic lifestyle.

Johannes transitioned into coaching when he faced a major challenge in his life. Had he not faced an illness that caused him enough suffering to explore a life changing path, he may have continued his career in process engineering. While exploring psychology, he used Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), meditation, and coaching to improve his quality of life and begin a healing journey. By incorporating these techniques into his daily life, he was able to transform the challenges of that time into an opportunity for growth.

Because he started out coaching when he had not yet fully recovered from his illness, he faced another challenge of having little energy for his work. This led him to spend the next four years studying the best of high-performance living, drastically improving his energy capacity and productivity each day.
