what time is it in Australia?
and what time is it in America?
I was brought up in the UK, a country that is not only monolingual but also has a single timezone. For those of you who live in or were brought up in America or Australia for example, you may well be used to multiple timezones. Whilst planning this Global event I am frequently asked by Leaders, Speakers and Participants "What time is the conference?", and that's a challenge to answer, so I have prepared some sample times and dates.
Sample times and dates
The conference phone lines will open at 00:00 GMT, and close at 24:00 GMT on 9th September 2009
Blue = 10th September
Green = 9th September
Red = 8th September

In Australia (where the local time is GMT +10 hours for example), this means that the conference phone lines will
open at the local time 10:00 on 9th September and
close 10:00 on 10th September
In America (where the local time is GMT - 9 hours for example), this means that the conference lines will
open at the local time 15:00 on 8th September and
close at 15:00 on 9th September
