Some of the exciting ideas that came from the call
The Aims There are many!
Communication Mechanics We want the coaches conference call to be accessible to as many people as possible, at a minimum cost. The easiest way is to use a free conference line. There is one in Sweden +46 (0)8 5000 5000. We decided to set a date to test the limits of this conference line! (Why not join us)
Coaches from different backgrounds We relish differences! We want the call to attract all coaches, not just CoActive coaches - even though this is where we started. Ya gotta start somewhere!
Overlapping Time Zones For convenience, the conference is split into a number of time zones. The leaders hold the conference for "their" time zone. At the end of each hour the leader will hand over the baton (= microphone) to the next leader. Why not spend 10 minutes getting to know the coaches and projects in the next time zone? There could be an brief overlap before the next time zone starts its own agenda.
Coaching Hours Bank We want to create a bank of coaching hours that can be used around the world. Participating coaches can donate any number of hours to the Global Conference and the Leaders can suggest projects people that we would support through our coaching.
Linking Themes We have an Olympic imagery going for us. Passing the call from person to person reminds us of the Olympic flame, and yes passing on the "Flame of Passion" is what we are about. We also had an idea that we could create a collaborative story, where the leaders would - towards the end of the hour - tell the story of the people, events and projects in the earlier time zones and add their own part to the story, so that the story would grow as we move around the world.
Environment A theme that we could support is work that focuses on creating an environment that we, and future generations can live in.
Generation We saw that coaching the younger generation would be a natural choice for us. This could be interpreted locally in many ways.
Key Speakers Of course every coach has their role to play, and some well-known coaches could play larger, bolder, more attractive roles. We are looking for key speakers who can lead or take part in discussions, or whom we can interview. This would attract coaches to listen in to the Conference Day, rather than choose any other option that may be available to them that day.
Clients Why not let clients speak too, about how their lives have changed through coaching perhaps.

- Discussion about a book (eg. "A Whole New Mind", Dan Pink)
